It all began with an ‘off the cuff’ idea courtesy of our Head Shepherd Chris. At the time, he was working with David Wreathall to organise a programme for his charity Inner Flame, which helps disadvantaged young people to develop self-worth, life-skills, and employability.
The youngsters were in need of a new activity: one that could help them to bond, that would bring communication styles to the surface, and would help to measure confidence levels.
The answer, of course, was sheep-herding.
Team building with sheep became, and remains, a regular part of every Inner Flame course. It’s also now a part of the Prince’s Trust Team programme which Inner Flame deliver.
And it also laid the groundwork for what would become Raising the Baa.
Now we work mainly with corporate teams, but we still have a passion for helping young people develop skills and an entrepreneurial spirit. For this reason, we have stayed committed to staging up to six charitable programmes each year. If you are connected to an organisation that fits the bill, please get in touch
